Our Fall Mantle

We moved into our new home in early July and it’s felt like a work-in-progress ever since. Although I have lots of plans for this mantle, it finally started to come together with a little fall decor. This is my absolute favorite time of year so I couldn’t wait to get a few pumpkins in the space.

The Samsung Frame TV

First off—I love this tv. I’ve had my eye on it for a few years now and we finally pulled the trigger on it when we moved into our new house. Mostly because the only place for a tv to go in the living room is right above the mantle. Normally I prefer art over a mantle, but with The Frame TV we didn’t have to compromise on entertainment over beauty.

The tv is a bit of a splurge but in my opinion it’s totally worth it. We choose the 65” and it fits the space perfectly. I love that you can customize the frame to your style. We also choose a minimalist frame that looks like wood. It’s the color “Beige” and I love how well it matches some of our other light wood in the space and ties the whole room together. I bought the “Teak” color first but it was slightly darker than I was hoping for so I exchanged it for the Beige and I’m so happy that I did.

I love that you can change the art to fit the season or your mood. You can signup for a subscription to download the Samsung art but I’ve found that there’s a lot of cute stuff on Etsy. During the summer I had Monet’s Water Lilies on the tv and I recently switched to these little ghosts painted into a landscape painting. I think it’s just so fun and makes the house feel instantly more festive.

I’ll do a whole post on The Frame TV including how to upload artwork and how to install it. Jon worked really hard installing it and he did a great job. He cut this giant hole in the fireplace and placed a back-box to hold all the boxes and cables. It’s so seamless and there isn’t a wire in sight. It’s pretty much magical and exactly what I wanted.

Glass Pumpkins

I was listening to Office Ladies podcast the other day and Angela mentioned that she buys a pumpkin for her collection every year. I love that idea. She said she pulls out her fall decor early bc her kids love it so much. I feel the same way about fall but I’ve never really had the space to decorate for it. Now that we have an entryway and a mantle, I feel like I have a few dedicated spaces to make the holidays shine.

I needed to get my pumpkin collection started so I got a few glass pumpkins (like this one and this one) at Target on my last visit. It’s small but it’s a start and it makes me so happy.
